Ludger sees him awkwardly stacking the papers and says, "those aren't super important, I dropped out a semester ago and haven't...cleaned up.." he mumbles the last part. "So don't worry about it too much."

He presses a packet of fruit snacks into Elle's hand and smiles at her. "There you are, sweetheart."

"Yaaay!" She pauses, and purses her little lips and nods like she's grown up or something. "Thank you, Lulu." She skips away and hops onto the couch and munches on the fruit snacks after a good ten seconds of attempting and finally succeeding to open it.

"I can understand." He responds, furrowing his brow slightly. "I... still would feel odd throwing them out so easily." He admits, bringing the papers to the desk and setting them down. He eyes the area, and besides the carpeting needing vacuuming, he figures it's clean enough to take a break to chat with him. He moves over and leans against the counter.

"Thank you so much," Ludger says, sighing loudly. "I really, really mean it. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please let me know. Dinner alone isn't enough to express my gratitude."

He allows himself a closer look at Julius now that Elle is too occupied to notice and say something. He is far too good looking for Ludger's good.

"So, uh..." he clears his throat. "What do you do for a living?"

"No, it's really fine. I used to babysit a couple of kids when I was younger and I guess I just never grew out of it." He laughs. "I like cleaning too, so." He leans on his elbow and rests his chin on his palm.

"Oh. I work in IT." He shrugs. "Not the most glamorous job, but I enjoy it. It's a decent enough pay, too, so I don't starve." He gets a chance, then, to look over Ludger, too. It's a little bit embarrassing just how cute he is.

"Oh, you're..." Ludger had to stop himself from saying a nerd because with how in shape Julius was he assumed he did something less stereotypically nerdy. "I mean, you're good with electronics, then?"

He might turn faintly pink.

"...A nerd, yeah. I know it's surprising, I just... I try to keep in shape. That's all." He smirks and looks aside momentarily. It's always interesting to see how people reacted to him, he thinks idly. He's just going to leave out the period of his life between 14-22 where he did a number of morally dubious things for his terrible father and horrible ex. "I'm better with them than I am with much of anything else."

"I don't mean it in a bad way, I just..." he sighs slightly, embarassed. "I'm a chef," he says, hoping to change the subject.

"No, I didn't think you did." He smiles genuinely, shakes his head and leans on his palm. "A chef, huh? I can't cook to save my skin, so I can definitely appreciate skill in that aspect." He might let his eyes linger a little too long on Ludger's lips.

"I could teach you," Ludger says before he realizes what he's saying. "I mean, it's easy once you know the basics. And, like I said, I owe you, so..."

He hopes Julius says yes. He wants every opportunity to see him in a cute apron and to lean over him and help him with the small things and...Oh God he shouldn't be daydreaming about this.

The idea is incredibly tempting.

"...I'm seriously terrible, though. I... I've burnt water before." He says, honestly, knowing he'd just embarrass himself. "I... mean, I would like it, I would, but... I don't want to disappoint you." He rubs his neck, feeling awfully sheepish about it.

"I've seen worse cooks than you, I promise," he smiles because it's true; some of the cooks he's trained have turned out to be less than qualified. "It's pretty difficult to disappoint me."

He looks aside momentarily and nods softly, smiling crookedly over to him.

"Alright, alright. Don't say I didn't warn you, though." He teases, a little nervous about it.

Ludger beams, proud he managed to set up some more little dates between the two of them. Even if Julius isn't wholly aware they're dates yet, he will figure it out soon enough.

"I can handle it," he promises him. "Would you mind getting Elle to wash up? Dinner is just about ready."

"No problem." He lifts an eyebrow lightly, tracing a finger over Ludger's hand nearest him as he rises.

"Elle, sweetie. Do you wanna come wash your hands with me? Dinner's almost ready." Her eyes light up.

"Pick me up!" She squeaks, tossing the wrapper on the ground.

"Do you know how to ask nicely?" Her lips curl into a pout.

"...Pleeeease?" He sighs. It's better than nothing, so he scoops her up and grabs the wrapper to throw it out. He holds her by the sink and she scrubs her hands dutifully.

Ludger practically grins as he watches Julius handle Elle as if she were his own daughter. It's beyond sweet. He's kind of sad Elle hadn't made a ruckus before this and convinced him to cook dinner for this cute, nerdy guy.

He sets the table and sets out the food and once Elle is finished washing up he puts her at the table and pats her head.

"Elle-Style Mabo Curry, just for you, dear," he says and then he sits next to her, glad to be sitting again. It was a long day.

She giggles and starts eating gladly, mumbling a belated 'thank you' with her mouth full. She's alarmingly adorable even with how messy she eats.

He tries his own food and is shocked by how utterly delicious it really is. He almost swoons as he eats.

"It's amazing." He sighs.

Ludger smirks as he tastes his own; it's better than usual, but then again, he hadn't had pasta margherita in ages, so that likely had something to do with it.

"Thank you," he says. "I'm glad you like it."

"That's cause Lulu's a great cook." Elle says, kicking her feet at her chair.

"Well duh, it's true!" She looks awfully smug as she munches on her food. Julius chuckles lightly. She seems a lot happier than she was prior. And Ludger is even cuter like this.

"Honestly, agreed. Thank you, Ludger." He smiles rather coyly.

"It's...it's no big deal," he says, still red. "I should be thanking you, really. I owe you so much for cleaning up."

He really does mean it, but the way Julius looks at him causes his cheeks to turn redder still.

He finishes first; a habit from his childhood he never shook and stands, taking plates to the kitchen to clean up. And hopefully he can will his face to stop being bright red.

"Ludger, it really is okay." He reassures him, still smiling warmly over to him. He's honestly so handsome even when he's blushing like this. No, especially like this. He might even watch him get up to clean up, smiling all the same.

He sighs slightly.

"If you say so," he concedes finally. It's difficult for him to accept other people's help, after all. "Elle, are you almost done?" He smiles at her.

The little girl gives a nod and pushes her mostly finished food forward and furrows her brow. "I'm done."

"I'm finished too." He, however, has cleaned his own plate quite thoroughly. "I really appreciate it. Though I don't want to overstay my welcome here."

Ludger smiles just a bit at Julius' plate. He scoops the rest of the plates into his hands and dumps them into the sink, swearing he'll wash them. Soon.

"You're welcome to stay," he says, turning back to Julius. "But I understand if you'd like to get home."
