"Could I? Would that really be of any help?" He meets his eyes, tilts his head up just a tad in a coy look. "I think it'd just make you want more."

Damen felt his heart pound in the most delicious way. He wanted to rip his heart and present it to Hadrien.

"You're probably right," he replied sheepishly. "Let's find something more substantial."

Well, he's not wholly sure Vera would really approve of this, but it might as well happen. It'd been a long time. She'd probably just send a guy to smack him one.

"I think I can manage that much." His hand traces over Damen's shoulder. He loosens the tie at his neck, and tugs it down along the buttons at his throat to expose the skin beneath.

Damen grinned so widely. What a wonderful turn of events. He pushed Hadrien up against the wall. Damen ran his tongue over his fangs.

Hadrien cocks his head and licks his own fangs--pretty prominent in his own right, despite his age. Somewhere the bartender can be heard groaning. He lids his eyes and tugs him closer.

"If you're going to act, then act." He tilts his neck and bares the skin for him.

Damen does not need to be told twice. He leans over and sinks his teeth into Hadrien's neck. Drinking from other vampires is so much different than drinking from humans. It's intimate, and the taste of blood from a vampires body is heady and full bodied.

Damen has to physically stop himself from drinking his fill, which would have been whatever Hadrien had in his body, plus more, he's sure. But his blood tastes of pancakes with much too much syrup and it's different and delicious.

He brings a hand to the other man's hip and brings him almost close enough that their bodies touch, but just far enough to tease him with the proximity. The loss of blood almost makes him dizzy, but to be frank, with the crowd he runs with it doesn't exhaust him like it would another vampire. He's used to it--and he almost enjoys it. He exhales a long, soft breath as he's nigh drained.

"You taste like syrup," Damen said dreamily, grinning stupidly as he wiped the blood from his lips and locked the rest from his fingers. "Wanna taste mine?" He teased, leaning close and pressing their hips together as he did so.

He laughs, it's certainly not the first time he'd been told that, but it always feels a little bit funny to him each time it happens.

"I can't promise I'll be gentle." He teases, running his hand against Damen's throat. He draws him in and bites down hard.

Damen dug his nails into Hadrien's hips, the taste of syrup still on his tongue. He moaned, much more loudly than was necessary, and then he chuckled to himself.

Hadrien smirks against the blood, lapping at it with maybe more teeth than he needed, enjoying the tart iron of the other vampire's blood. He doesn't take nearly as much as Damen did, rather he takes it almost excruciatingly slowly.

He pulls off and wipes his mouth with a grin. "Almost always. I don't feed on others very frequently, but I like to make when I do memorable."

"Ha." Damen used his fingers to wipe away the rest of the blood and gladly sucked it from his fingers. "You're interesting."

"Interesting, or just weird? I wonder." He remarks, running a hand through his short hair. "You seem pretty 'interesting' yourself, Damen." He almost coos the name, lips parted even when the syllables stop.

"Oh, not particularly," he replied coyly. "Just an extremely old amnesiac is all."

Regardless, Damen is entranced by this newcomer to his life. Certainly more interesting to hang out with than Lana, who despises his very existence. (Which, does make it fun to tease her, but he doesn't enjoy pulling his intestines back into his stomach.)

"So, Hadrien...wanna come back to my place?" he suggested casually.

Hadrien slips from his hold against the wall, rubbing his neck and averting his golden eyes, smirk firmly in place. "Dunno. It sounds a little bit tempting, but Vera had other jobs for me today."

"What other kinds of jobs?" Damen asked, his curiosity trumping his desire for anything else at the moment.

"Errands, boring stuff. It'd be bad to ignore her request, as much as I'd like to come with you." He admits, running a finger through his ponytail, a faint smile at his lips. It was mostly the truth, but the jobs were few and had a pretty far away deadline. It was more fun to tease him.

"You certainly are greedy. I've been told I taste good, but not nearly this good." He chuckles, and traces a finger over the other man's cheek.

"You get to wait." He winks, and crams his hands into his pockets as he steps away.

He laughs at the idea. "I bet you will." He winks again and wiggles his fingers.

--

The job is out of the way and annoying. He does not want to do it, but he knows it's a mistake to not go. It's in a part of town Vera has no control over, which makes it even more dangerous than the ones she does control. Her favor is a bargaining chip in her territories, but in these her name is a death sentence. She's claimed a lot of places but this one in particular is a long way from being hers yet, and for good reason--the ring leader of the town is a man named Vincent and he is feared for a reason. Vera has not acknowledged him even once--any assassins are swiftly wiped out. Naturally, he is displeased with it.

Of course, there are people in this territory who cooperate with Vera's agents, dangerous as the work may be, and the money for completing these jobs is always substantial.

Hadrien hates coming here. It might as well be colder than the rest of the county--it certainly feels it. He has knives on him and it still doesn't feel like enough. He feels footsteps behind him at all times. The sun is setting soon.

"A vamp, huh?" Asks a deep voice, a shadow at the side of a building. "Lost? Or stupid? Maybe both." It approaches--a colossal man, taller than even Vera, he supposes, with a grin too wide. Probably a gargoyle, judging by the gray of his skin. Hadrien stares up at him behind his shades.

"Am I?" He responds. "I'm here on business. Vincent won't mind." The man's face falls into a frown.

"I think he will." He throws a punch.
